Well hi everyone Ok here goes my first post!

The GF bought me a new Compaq PC and a few PC games i'm reletively new to this so.....

Firstly it wont play some of the games i've tried to figure out why,the only thing i can see is Vista rating on my pc ...everyone seems ok except Graphic and Gaming Graphics which are rated lower than the Games requirements (according to my Vista report).

So what do I do?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell us more about the specs of the pc and what games and we may be able to offer some advice.

32bit op system

2.o GHz processor

model CQ5001uk

So you need any more info, if not what do I need to buy/upgrade??

Well got Fallout 3,Fifa and Sherlock Holmes aswell (1st dont work either!)
Was gonna go buy COD or Battlefield and maybe a good stratergy game Cammand and Coquer 4 type game but don't wanna do out till I sorted this problem out.
Basically happy to pay a little extra just not upto date with all these upgrade problems so if I can do one that'll be up to date for awhile and run most software that'll be great:nod:

Well as Wizkid says, let us know what games you would like to play, so a suitable card can be found.......

Hiya,

For cards I recommend.

If you can afford it go for the 260 or 275. If not then the 9800 will do you fine. :)

Can you check to see what Power Supply is in your computer as these cards will require a fair bit of power and you need to make sure that your PSU is up to handling these types of cards Can you please list the make and the wattage?

Thanks

cool I assume its straight forward to fit?

then which of the Cards would you go for...is there a major difference between the 3 mate?

Yeah they are easy to fit all you need is slot it into the PCIE slot on the motherboard and then connect the power cables to it and then boot up the pc.

If it was me then I would go for either the Asus GTX 260 or the Asus GTX 275. If you can afford the 260 then go for this it will do you fine and is a great card I have one in my system and have never had any problems with it at all plays all my games fine I run COD4 and 5, crysis they all work fine.

I see othere folk here are sugesting you upgrade your GFX and PSU with a spend of about £200 in my opinion that would be madness. Read the link I give here or searh the net for more reviews on your cpu before spending any money.

http://devoracles.com/intel-celeron-e1400-review-and-benchmarks

"Verdict on the Intel Celeron E1400

Even though it has 2 cores, this processor is less than recommended for gaming. It performs well with office applications and image manipulating, but when it comes to multimedia and high resolution video rendering, it struggles."
