I just wondered whether you'd tried clicking on a different "pyramid" in Speedtest.Net Flopps? When I tried the test, I found that the closest one to me (Maidenhead, just 50 ml and with a ping of 58) gave poor-ish results. When I tried Limerick, however, (300 miles and a ping of 74) the results were really good on my up-to 8 Mb connection ;)

i thought is was jsut me? london and maidenhead always give different speeds and ping times

No - and in fact, it was Barcelona which gave me an even better download speed than the ones above :lol:
 
Oh well if its true them am happy,

pay £17.50 a month for unlimited use, on a 8Mb line when the speed test says im getting nearly 12, awesome.
