VB6 --> VB 2005 upgrade ...IDE now VERY slow!!!

How many errors have you got listed from your upgrade??
I know that when it gets over 100 it doesn't list them all, but on my laptop
anything over 50 slows it down somewhat.

Installing Service Pack 1 Beta increases the "average" IDE response time,
and decreases waiting time for compilation, etc, but that's about all.

What spec CPU/RAM is your PC? I've got about 200 forms and classes in my
biggest project, and that runs relatively smoothly on my desktop PC - P4
3.2GHz with 2GB RAM.

No, Zone Alarm has documented issues with VS.NET. Last time I checked with
the folks at ZA, they had no fix and recommended using an earlier version of
ZA that didn't have the same problem.

I have about 60 errors, and over the max displayed (102) for warnings.
There are no UI components in the project with 50 classes/modules, and
it is only one project with about 40 file references to other .Net and
COM dlls. I just installed VS2005 SP1 Beta this morning and it made no
difference. I am heading back to VS2003 as I must get moving on my
project. >>sigh<< Hope I can return to VS2005 soon when things get
fixed up.

Thanks for all your suggestion, all.

Marcus
