Hey all

Our company recently started using .net and started in VB.NET. We've since
changed to c#, but has some code already written in VB.NET. I'm looking for
a converter that will just take vb.net and convert it into farely nice c#.
I've found one or two, but they do some strange stuff and was wondering if
there is a Microsoft converter or one generally accepted as being good by
the community?

Hi Mike,

Our Decompiler.NET product does a good job with translating VB to C#
into high level readable code that compiles and runs correctly. It is
also priced very reasonably compared to some of the other
alternatives. You can download a free trial version and confirm that
it works well for you from our web site at:

Yes - thanks Jon. It's in my signature - I can see it from my
browser, but I guess not all have the option of viewing signatures?

It's not in what ends up being posted to Usenet.

Note that your method of quoting also ends up being a pain - by not
indenting existing text and not removing signatures, I end up having to
manually cut and paste your reply, because my newsreader understandably
thinks that everything you've written is part of the signature, because
it appears after a signature separator.

Time to think about a new newsreader, maybe?

I'm just accessing the newsgroup directly via Internet Explorer - I
would have thought that using the "quote" feature on this site would
work decently. What would you recommend as a newsreader?

What do you mean by "directly"? What URL are you entering? As far as
I'm aware, IE doesn't support NNTP itself.

I'd recommend Gravity. See

I'm using http://www.groupsrv.com/dotnet/viewforum.php?f=1 for this
"General Discussion" group.

I'll check out Gravity. Thanks.
