Using FireFox now, tabs still doesn't work perfectly

Piro has always maintained TBE on it's own site because the it has
a support forum and so on that few other extension developers
have. http://white.sakura.ne.jp/~piro/xul/_tabextensions.html.en

Having an extension on its own site does not prevent it from being
listed at update.mozilla.org as well -- many extensions there are also
available on their own sites.

I have read some posts from Ben goodger stating disapproval of TBE in
posts to mozillazine, that's as official as they will get I suspect.

That is correct. It's unclear whether Piro submitted his extension for
inclusion at update.mozilla.org and it was rejected, or he didn't borther
at all.
