I agree, I also think it will be a while until we see the death of
serial, Ps/2 and parallel ports.
Look how long it took for the ISA slot to die out, My last computer
which is onder 2 years old, still got ISA.
Talking of which, do any one knoe of any P4 motherboards that still got
a ISA slot?

I know it is a long shot, but a mate of mine want to update his
computer, he needs a ISA slot for his sound cardAnd no he do not want to
change the card due to the fact it cost him £400 and is still good.
It must be Intel, not AMD as he got this silly idea, that AMD is no good
for music

Soyo makes a P4 board with an ISA slot. Check their web site. This is
the only current production board I know of with an ISA slot.

Have a look at: http://www.technoland.com

The TL-MB 800 is a P4 board with 3 ISA slots. Not cheap, however.
Recently, I've seen several modern boards with ISA slots. May be
others that have oldie but goodie ISA cards.

Give a look on Google.

The Soyo 'P4I 845PE ISA' motherboard, based on the i845PE
chipset supports 400 and 533MHZ FSB Pentium 4 processors.
3 ISA slots, 4 PCI slots, 1 AGP slot
Onboard video, sound, Ethernet and USB 2.0.

Here's a supermicro one with a 875 chipset;

Further, there seem to be several versions of the
Gigabyte GA-7ZX that have one ISA slot. The
-7ZXC is one of them. Unknow if this is current
production.

I get you're point, and thanks for you're insights about the PS2vsUSB on a
previous post. I truly appreciate all comments on this. While we're at it;
The USB is assigned an IRQ, same goes with the LPT port as well?

Another thing that's been nagging me, is the printer software from HP has
added functions in the USB version, like isn't it possible to have the same
utilities on both versions (USB and/or LPT)?
