USB cable and its use

I am sorry, but I do not understand what you are trying to tell me. Is it
that wireless connection would be easier?

Given two systems working wirelessly on a lan, yes it is
relatively easy to share files between them. Forget that
the network is wireless, forget it completely because it is
not relevant.

You already had a lan, "presumably" it was working to the
extent that you had both systems wirelessly accessing
*something* (like the internet), so all that was remaining
was to enable the file and printer sharing and take it from
there. There was no need to use a USB cable to share files,
or anything else, _except_ if you need a certain
performance, because wireless networking is relatively slow.
Sharing office documents or casual use would be no problem.
Streaming videos or saving system-wide backups would be far
too much data to copy over wifi while you waited (matters
less if it's unattended, like overnight).

Google will find basic home networking tutorials, which
guide one step-by-step through setting up a lan and getting
file sharing working. You need not be concerned if they're
not specific to wifi, as the wifi aspect is already working,
the rest is the same setup.

I cannot see the remote ncomputer when I am wirelessly connected, as I am
now. Wheter I mark it Filesharing on both computers or not.

So, I fail to see the other computer while in wireless mode.

Is that (wireless approach) what you wanted to tell me about???

First of all, you need to set things to *enabled" mode, do
NOT toggle on and off features, leave all of them
complimentary to doing it, THEN change things back one at a
time. For example, Leave filesharing enabled, do not, even
for a moment, "or not" it.

Then, turn off windows firewall. Do not, even for a moment,
re-enable it. Set both systems to same workgroup. Then
leave them like this.

In short, I am done with the thread because you are not
following directions. It is very easy to get wifi file
sharing working but no suggestion matters if we don't even
know if you followed it or just half-did-it then un-did-it
again.

Google for "home networking tutorial" or look around on this
