USB 2 - "The device can perform faster"

Your board has 3 USB 2.0 ports. Have you installed VIA 4 in 1Driver? Will
have been on CD supplied but is also updated on internet, just google 'VIA
4
in 1'

No, not yet - I have downloaded the latest version in preparation. As I said
somewhere else, I tend not to install any VIA drivers unless I have a
specific problem. This could be a specific problem I guess :-)

I use True Image so I can take an image of the C: drive before trying the
driver.

Later...

Cheers, Rob.

One thing I did noticed on boot-up was the device status screen just before
it launches Windows XP. I didn't have time to study it in detail but it'd
listed a number (probably 3) USB 1.1 devices and a single USB 2.0 device.
Now either the board has four USB root hubs (3 x 1.1 and 1 x 2.0) or some
jiggery pokery is going on to connect 3 x USB 1.1 root hubs through one 2.0
root hub. They are still USB 1.1 though.

Ok, and I've not bothered to find out why this is ;) But...
In the bios under "integrated peripherals" it shows both the USB 1.1 and
2.0 controllers.
However, the USB 2.0 support on this board is in the VT8235 which has 6
USB ports and it is these that are connected.

My board is setup with both controllers enabled and USB 2.0 support
works, so unless you do in fact have a driver problem, then I don't know
what else to suggest.

Prior to SP2, I did use the Hyperion drivers, but post SP2 Via claim
these are no longer needed and I didn't reinstall them.
IIRC there was an issue with SP2 and the Hyperion AGP driver anyway.

Sometimes it's time to just move on :-) I've not got any particularly high
speed devices added via USB and probably won't be in the near future

I rolled back to a previous image before installing the VIA 4-in-1 drivers
which didn't appear to make any difference.
