I have heard just a few years ago that AG Edwards still ahs monthly jobs that run off punch cards.

I found some punchcards the other day.

You probably don't even know what those are.

So he will need two of the "record"s for this to work...

Maybe 5 1/4", so less trimming is necessary.

Do you think it is 3,5" drive?

Use shears to trim the plastic record so it fits in the floppy drive.

Very carefully, I would suspect.

I have a Packard Bell 386 that has Windows 3.1 on it.
I just got a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate and there are
no floppy disks in the package. It only has a round plastic
"record".

How do I install this?

Do you have to punch another hole in it to make the 8" double sided?
Now that is going back a few years.

Now that's taking "if it works, don't fix it" idea just a little too
far...they certainly have recovered any development costs involved ; )

He cannot get the gramophone since the local theatre needs it because no one
told them about 'talkies' yet.

Oh heck they've had "talkies" for several years now...
but since they raised the price of a movie to 35 cents...who's going to go
now?

I remember punch cards...
I took a few computer classes back in the 60's

They were still using them when I went back to school in the 70's

I got so disgusted with it I swore I'd never touch a computer again!

It took me until 1999 to get interested in computers again.

I've got the Fortran manual for the CDC 6400 (yeah I RTFM'd back then) and
the one for BASIC8 for the PDP8E we had with DecTape. I might have a few 8"
ones from the early 80's and the PDP11's.
