Just select it from the Upgrade option, it should look for it and find
it on its own - you just select the one you want.

If it doesn't find anything then something is wrong, I have XP Sp2
installed on this computer, SP1 before I added SP2, and it lists 4
different ACPI processors available for upgrade.

What happens if yo uselect "rescan" hardware from the device manager?

If this fails, a repair/reinstall is painless, it takes about 50 minutes
to complete on some machines.

Running XP Pro SP2

Leythos had it right earlier in the thread. I have done this exact upgrade
Celeron to P4 several times. Most of the time on fist boot the new hardware
was found and the correct HAL was installed. I have also had to change it
manually in the device manager. Once the correct HAL was not listed as a
possibility and I had to do a repair install also known as an in place
upgrade. See the following links about the HAL, which ones are available and
also one on doing an in place upgrade.

Make sure you also follow Leythos' advice about making sure you have a
backup before you proceed.
