Uh Oh... I'm in Trouble...

so many

I think it's all to do being on one of the main flight corridors for air traffic in the South East of the UK. In the South East you have so many airports both civil and military, which fly both rotary & fixed wing aircraft.

Well the police and ambulance rotary craft dont have a flightpath they go wherever the hell they please, but civil aircraft your near the airports so depending on what time of day it is determines the amount of fixed wing civil craft you'll see, and also to do with the SIDS and STARS procedures for the different airports...

At 16:05 (4.05pm) 2 Chinooks in close formation flew over.

You can hear them a mile away!

Yeah they rule - we have them over here from RAF Odhiam.

Had a formation of a couple of Panavia Tornado's fly at tree level over the college sports field the other day. I was like WTF, are we at war?! The whole ground shook.

Low level flying is rare in the south east, unless your under the flight path for an airport or RAF/RN flying base. I have been climbing in Wales and been at the top of a climb to see fast jets coming down a valley and been lower than me.

Same in the Lake District - jets flying under you.

Dont forget you have Heathrow and Gatwick in the south..
