Actually, it's not so much 'don't believe' so much as 'don't know'.

I have no proof therefore I cannot state something is true when I don't know for sure that it is.

I actually think there's an extremely good chance other life exists within or beyond our known universe. I think it would be arrogant in the extreme to think otherwise. We're probably quite insignifiocant in the whole scheme of things as well.
