Turning on WEP stops access

You say that you downloaded "info" about your problem, but I suggest you
actually print the manuals out and read them.

The manual for your MA401 wireless PC card is at
ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/ma401_reference_man.pdf
Read Chapter 3 " Protecting Your Wireless Connection." There is an explanation
of how to set your wireless SSID, channel used, WEP key size, and WEP passphrase
(all of which you have to first set at the router).
The manual for your router (which I assume is a MR814 -- not a MR314) is at
ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/mr814_v1_ref_manual.zip
Read Chapter 5: "Wireless Configuration." This explains how to set the SSID,
channel, and the key size and passphrase for WEP.

If you can't figure out how to set up your wireless equipment using these
manuals, you probably should consult your local telephone direcotry and hire
someone to help you out.

I suggest you take your system to a dealer and have them set it up for you.
You obviously have not even tried to find the answer, since I found it in
less then 5 minutes on the net. You seem to have an attitude problem and
truthfully, I will not help someone who is unwilling to help themselves.
BTW, RTFM can mean more then what you seem to think. If you have a problem,
it's in your interpretation of the meaning or your dirty mind. Since You
want to have an attitude with people who are trying to help you, you are
being added to my killfile as I no longer wish to see your drivel. As a
parting gift, even though you do not deserve it, I will give you a clue.
Look for the phrase "network key".
That's as much as your getting, and it should be more then enough to give
you the answer to you "problem".

Abusive language by you is NO help at all!

Yes. But using your *brain* definitely will help!

I can accept a question two times, but asking the same question five or
more times, shows me that you haven't the tiniest ambition to THINK
about anything on your own! This newsgroup isn't a "getting answers for
free of charge machine". We expect some cerebral efficiency from YOU,
too!
And that's why I said: "RTFM" - SOON!

Sorry for considerable crossposting...
Michael
