Maybe I saved you from animal right's activists complaining!
Maybe! :):):)
I like that image MUCH better, since Pooh is facing right it focuses you
into the page rather than off screen to the left.

I agree, I actually looked for a picture that faced to the right, or
straight forward. I like this page MUCH better too, the picture going to the
bottom, and the description all on the right. Thanks so much for standing up
for Pooh! Pooh and my page are better now:)

Thanks Trevor, I hadnt noticed the mouseover, later today I will
change them to blue. On some pages, if I have links with different
backgrounds, like gallery, I don't know how to change them correctly
in my css external style sheet, but I will find out. I just have one
a hover for a css page. Example> a:hover { background: gray; color:
blue; } Maybe it's as easy as a adding second a hover saying,
a:hover { background: white; color: blue; } I will figure it out.

I saved Pooh Bear... :)
Susie

Well , not quite. If you have two "a:hover"s then the second one will take
precedence.

You may need separate classes
e.g.
..hover1 { background: gray; color:> blue; }
..hover2 { background: white; color: blue; }

But then you need to specify the class for each <a> tag
<a class = "hover1" .........>
or
<a class = "hover2" .........>

But if only a few need the class hover2, then you can just add this class to
those

So your CSS would be
a:hover { background: gray; color: blue; }
..hover2 { background: white; color: blue; }

and your HTML would read
<a ............> for all those that wanted the default
and
<a class = "hover2" .........> for those that wanted the special class

Thanks for trying to explain this to me, I messed with it for hours, and am
going to have to give up on the hover for the gallery, (different background
color on links) I am just not doing something right. I give up. But, I did
fix all the other pages, I think...
Anyway, even if theres no hover, they still work.
You have gone above and beyond, and I will always appreciate your help:)

Hi, Susie.
I am sorry that I didn't explain where to make changes. In fact, I don't
actually know "where", I just have an idea of "what".
What I was concerned about was that certain combinations of colours don't
give as good a result as others when a mouseover occurs.

At the moment the problem areas are
Spirit Scupture
Disney Sculture ( to some extent)
Figure Scultpture

If you can't get results, it not worth spending hours and hours on it,
because as you say, they still work.
I'll try to look at these areas sometime and see what I can suggest (and
also figure out where).

I had another look this morning (1030 AEST) so you may get this in daylight
hours in the USA

I made an error in this advice
So your CSS would be
a:hover { background: gray; color: blue; }
..hover2 { background: white; color: blue; }
and your HTML would read
<a ............> for all those that wanted the default
and
<a class = "hover2" .........> for those that wanted the special class

This is incorrect because <a class=="hover2" ....> will only change the
default colour for the <a> tag. It will do nothing to the a:hover behaviour
because a:hover is not mentioned in the class definition. BTW, the name
"hover2" was completely arbitrary, "fred" would be as good a name as any in
this context.

You suggestion was the better one
"Maybe it's as easy as a adding second a:hover saying, a:hover {
background: white; color: blue; }"

What I would suggest - and I did try this out, unlike the other incorrect
suggestion ;-( - is to alter the a:hover style in rlcharcoal.css to, say:
a:hover { background-color: #424242; color: aqua; }

This will give a better contrast for
Spirit Sculpture
Figure Sculpture

For Disney Sculpture, I think that the use of black text against the
background colour you chose doesn't work very well. My suggestion, for what
it is worth, is to alter the background colour.

This can be done in rldblue.css by moving the body style to the top and
altering it, for example, to:
body { background: #39f ; color: black; font-family: verdana, arial,
helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:x-small; font-weight: normal; font-style:
normal;} Try other colours if you don't like #39f, which is shorthand for
#3399ff. Putting it in the body style means you can easily test a different
colour by changing it in only one place.

You can then delete all background specs in the rest of the file - they are
the same so they are not needed more than once.

The same applies to other duplicates, e.g. font-family: verdana, arial,
helvetica,sans-serif; is specified in the body style and in other places. If
you move the body style to the top, you can delete font-family elsewhere
where it is the same. You only need to specify it where it is different from
the body spec., e.g. in h1, h2, h3.

Similarly for other styles. You specify these at the body level
font-size:x-small; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; so you only need
specify them again when they are different.

Except for the <a> tags. You need to respecify these. I am not sure why, but
there are many on this NG more expert (e.g. Murray) who could probably
answer. I think it is because <a> tags have a default which is not changed
by a style at body level.

I was going to post an altered rldblue.css to demonstrate how to get rid of
duplicate styles, but you have a few css files which interact, so I can't be
certain that it would work.

If you want to try my ideas (or anyone else's, for that matter) I would try
one change at a time and see what it does because:
1) I may be wrong - again ;-(
2) There may be other styles influencing what is happening
3) It is easier to restor the status quo

Once again, good luck and don't spend too many midnight hours.
