To buy tigerdirect or not to buy tigerdirect?

1) It was Sceptre that screwed you
2) You weren't really screwed since you got the rebate.

You're right, except I think 5 months is ridiculous. Maybe I can't
blame Tiger, but they sell the product and would not help me chase
down the problem. Just gave me a toll number that Sceptre would not
answer.

Then why refuse to deal with TigerDirect again?

1) It was Sceptre that screwed you
2) You weren't really screwed since you got the rebate.

Because Tiger advertises the rebate to promote the time.
Because Tiger has been known to continually offer these
rebates with high problem rates and continues to offer them
even after enough evidence has accumulated that the problem
exists.

I have only had one TD rebate rejected and it was due to "fine print" as a
number of different items were covered by the same rebate and only "one per
customer".

Rebates are totally not the responsibility of TD. The manufacturer offers
the rebate, TD advertises the rebates, but it's up to the manufacturer to
actually deal with the rebate and send the cash.

Not always true... Many of the rebates are TD exclusives,
unavailable anywhere else. When a store advertises an item
for $X after rebate, they can't just claim the 3rd party
didn't fulfill the rebate therefore it costs more... their
obligation is to the customer for the item to end up costing
what was advertised, else they can just leave that out of
the ad.
