In the main screen of Windows Mail, (NOT the compose screen), go to
Tools, Options, Spelling.
First select another language, click Apply. Then reselect English and click OK.

I go to tools, like everyone is saying, but when I do that there is no
options for me to click on too. There is a spelling one to click on too.
But is I click on to that I just get the same message "This language is no
longer available for spell checking." Where do I find where I can choose a
language? go to main page of e-mail. click tools, go to options. click spelling, go to where it has language click french apply then go back and click English then apply and that will solve problem.

Please, it would help for people to add a blank line or two between the
quoted text and their reply.

I went to the main window in Windows Mail and pressed the "alt key" and the
"t key" (for tools) but nothing happened. When I went to the main window in
Windows Mail, I made sure that my folders were closed as this would have been
outside of the main window in Windows Mail (at least that is what I figured).
Please let me know what I am doing wrong because I am determined to get to
the spell check options and follow what I've read on these community posts.
Thank you very much!

Not sure why you are closing folders (whatever that means).
The main window is the one you see when Windows Mail opens,
before you have clicked on anything inside Windows Mail. You should
see a menu bar with File, Edit, View, Tools, Message, Help.

Well well well! I thank you all so very much. I found out that I had to
maximize the window in order to get to the menus and when I did that I was
able to access the spell checker. I was so happy I purposely mispelled a few
words so I could do lmy spell check!

You're very welcome, but the same answer has been posted here
numerous times since Vista was released.

go to (tools) in the (windows mail program) tool bar not the email you are
sending. In tools go to (options) than spelling. check spelling than use drop
down for the language you want. that's it.

If you are asking about Messenger, you will need to post in its dedicated
newsgroup.
