So, it was officially unveiled yesterday. What are we thinking? Anyone actually care?

I think it looks like it could be great. But I'm very interested to see what Microsoft has planned for the new Xbox.

Some videos.....

Indeed, its so they can (as The Verge said) 'respond to MS' if needs be. :)

@ED: Yep was originally 4Gb, but the new xbox specs were apparently leaked and Sony upp'ed it to 8 too.

Gonna have to make sure me old credit card is paid off by the time PS 4 comes out :D

I'm looking forward to seeing the next gen consoles in the flesh - I've got a PS3 at the moment and use it more as a media centre, although do spend a few hours a week gaming on it. Up until recently, Becky probably played on it a little more (Assassins Creed!).

The graphics look pretty great so far... so it will be interesting to see if there's a big difference between the new XBOX and PS4. Even more so if the SteamBox takes off!

Definitley getting, the watch dogs trailer sent all the right signals to me wallet :p

Indeed, that, Killzone and DriveClub all look very very good.

I still want to see the actual machine though. Rumours seem to be pointing towards E3 at the mo.... The same time Microsoft are supposedly announcing the new Xbox. Time will tell. :)

Tech spec also gives the hard drive as 'fixed' Couldn't find the size and whether it's replaceable or not.

Looks like I'll have to do some searching.

Backwards compatible with PS3/PS2 games?

What's needed here is a comprehensive feature/comparison table between the two upcoming new consoles.

The PS4 reminds me of the PS2 with its more boxed shape. I win't be getting one when they come out as I can't afford it. Your looking at £500 for the console, games and extras I bet. Its all looking good though, although I don't really play games that much anymore.

Would help Sony sell many more if it was backwards compatible. The PS3 started that way and then they took it away. It may not have been perfect, but I'd rather play half the back catalogue than none at all.

What video? The one in your link. And, typically, it's working now

Were I in the market for a new generation console I'd say, so far, The Sony is a country mile ahead of Microsoft's offering.

I vote PS4 too. Not just jumping on the band wagon honestly. However, if you guys change your mind to Xbox One, I'll follow the conga line .... Joking. I've been a Sony fan since the very first PS1 in 95. It made me give up my Sega Mega Drive :thumb:
