um, *WHO* owns the domain "priclessware.org" ?

*WHO* owns the name acf or alt.comp.freeware ?

and *WHY* double dip or duplicate services or websites ?

how can the group approve something called pricelessware or with
pricelesware in the name when one person already owns the domain that you
all supposedly agreed upon once before ? votes don't count unless you're in
the clique huh?

what about SoS or Genna ? don't they or their efforts count ? obviously
not. i guess they're out of the clique now, huh ? That is sooooooo sad as
SoS has one of the best Freeware sites around (some stuff you can't find
anywhere else but his site) I don't blame him or Genna for not replying to
any of these lame threads about PL.

doesn't Henk's efforts to mediate count ? didn't think so.

seems to me that if you're not a "yes sir" person to the group you're an
outsider. so anything vote on in this group is meaningless anyways (like a
U.S. Presidential election)

It's a freedom we enjoy. If someone wants this, how will you stop them?
Why care? And how does this affect your quality of life. Get a bit of

It was an offer, freely made by Henk. If either party chooses to decline
the offer, how does this reflect poorly on he who made the offer, or
those that declined it? Do we not have the freedom to decline such an
offer, or are we morally and ethically obligated to accept any such
offer that is tabled? Get a grip here!

At this point you've made it clear that you "don't care". I still don't
understand where you are getting the clique thing from. People either
agree or disagree to let Susan continue to run the site. It's clear that
there will be change regardless.

tell ya, this was not the slightest bit constructive. Reading it, you
came across as an angry child, that was not invited to play ball.

Yeah, it sounded a bit out of character for you. I agree, it's
frustrating and difficult to follow. Looks like it's coming to an end

As a long-time subscriber to ACF I've been appalled by recent events
here - not just the chronically immature Ms Burger's attempted coup
d'etat, but also by the shocking absence of loyalty shown to Genna by
many of the very ACFers who sang her praises to the skies when she was
maintaining the PW list.

How quickly some seem to forget all that Genna did for ACF!

All that matters to them is that Ms Burger's keeping the show on the
road now and her devious misrepresentations of Genna's words and
intentions are overlooked for fear of upsetting the new ACF workhorse.

One by one Genna's old "friends" and self-styled admirers have stuck
the knife into her memory, purely and simply to keep Ms Burger sweet
and the wheels of the PW database turning.

Of course, whereas Genna was regarded with genuine affection by many
here, no one actually likes Ms Burger. How could they? But ACFers are
nothing if not pragmatic, and if the group's new workhorse is a
Machiavellian control-freak who seeks only ego-gratification from her
labours, then so be it. At least the work is getting done.

I've never before witnessed such a callous and heartless tossing aside
of a valued friend for the sake of mere expediency.

The only consolation Genna may take from all this is that the time
will inevitably come when Ms Burger too is ousted by an even more sly
and ambitious megalomaniac, and then she too will be consigned to the
ACF recycle bin while the two-faced regulars sing the newcomer's
praises.

Ms Burger is an extremely silly and immature woman. She has behaved
like a spoiled and dishonest child throughout this whole business. She
is not to be trusted.

She has brought ACF into disrepute with her infantile behaviour and
underhand tactics.

Leave this foolish, scheming empire builder in charge of the PW list
and you'll all come to regret it.

I am one of the "sycophants" for you but you don't need this crap. I would

It's one of the descriptive phrases that turns up here in ACF. I've
never seen it used anywhere else. When there is a long, usually
multi-thread discussion, the side that is on the mat begins hurling
this phrase, out of frustration I guess. I've never bothered to look
it up. The context that always accompanies it is enough for me.

Shame that you chose to post such a profound insight into this whole
fiasco behind the cloak of anonymity. It almost reflects my own view
of the situation. It certainly is one of the most "On Target" posts
that these (too many) threads have produced. While I don't see the
need to denigrate any individuals, your description is spot on. If
they had been my own words, I would have taken pride in posting them,
but I guess an anonymous, on target missive is better than all of the
veiled half truths we've been exposed to this past week.
FYI...No matter what comes out of all of this, I will (Always) only
consider SOS and Genna's pricelessware.org as being the premiere
solution to the best that Freeware has to offer.

Well, that doesn't fit me then.

I haven't looked in for a year and I needed a eraser program so I looked in
and started reading the controversy.

I don't know what the argument is and I don't think anyone else does from
what I have read.

I just can't imagine anyone speaking with such venom about someone who had
been doing such a good job and for *free*.

I need to curry favor from neither one of the subjects but even a fool can
see Susan is being treated poorly and I can't understand why she still
volunteers.

One guy, who has posted *dozens* of posts, makes most of the posts
complaining about the long strings. The idiot needs to learn to shut up.
Someday he will grow up.
