Taking the plunge, deleted XP

I find with many laser printers picking HP LaserJet Series will give you
at least minimal functionality. I have a very old IBM 4019 laser printer
that uses IBM specific printer codes by default. I think it actually
emulates a IBM dot matrix. I was surprised to find it works fine in both
Vista x86 and x64. I did set it for HP emulation and try it. That worked
as well.

Ok thanks, I'll play around with some HP LaserJet drivers.
