I don't necessarily agree with the way Tramp posts,
but I think he has the right to do so. This groups is
about freeware, and if he wants to announce freeware
then fine.

If all you want is discussions, then maybe you should
be in alt.comp.freeware.discussions

This is the right group for Tramp to post.

I am afraid you did not understand my effort well.
I second you he has the right to do so and it is the right group.
It was suggestion, not demand or order :-)

Neither I did write about not announcing.
I have only tried to say ACF was mainly discussion group
and now is more announcing one.
(sorry for bad spelling)

Personally, the floods don't bother me that much...they're easy enough for
me to overlook. But if they did bother me, they are so-so easy to filter
out.
I use many scoring filters in Gravity, even regexps,
but to keep daily msgs list short, it is easy to hide
an interesting message.

I have nothing against these hardworking boys.

Tramp is one of the ones who rarely posts except for the flood messages,
so if you filter him out, you're not likely to miss additional messages.
His most interesting posts are generally when someone else responds. In
filtering out Tramp, you won't be denied seeing those responses. And,
given a decent newsreader (Xnews, etc....I'm not familiar with the rest),
you can easily retrieve the original post if not enough of it was quoted.

IMO, Tramp is the most 'robotish' of the bunch, and if you filter him
out, the others will be more tolerable.

But like I said, I have nothing against Tramp's posts...I neither read
them, nor filter them out. I just ignore them.
