For that matter, does ANY of this stuff work without a learning curve a
year long?

I forgot to mention - One of the main advances of DNS v7 over DNS v5
seems to be the initial recognition speed. After installing then
reading in a text passage for less than 20 min., DNS v7 could produce
usable recognition.
