After giving this some thought--I realized that I am WRONG. Sorry.

You were NOT wrong IMO.
I've tried various tray managers. TraySaver was close to what I needed, but
it trashed the language bar on my WinXP and was slightly buggy in some
other regards. TrayManager, it seems, requires subscribing to PC Mag.
Effective Desktop interferes w/ something I'm doing w/ PowerPro, and I'm
too lazy to reconfigure. Sometimes the freeware alternatives aren't quite
what you want.
I didn't know about SysTrayX until you mentioned it. I downloaded it and it
works great: it's exactly what I wanted. I found that although they ask for
registration and $, it evidently does not expire or nag.
You DID say it wasn't freeware, you were not PROMOTING it, and it was just
a helpful suggestion for those who might not find acceptable freeware.
THANKS. I'm using it now!
Don't be intimidated by these self-appointed moderators on the group.
Nothing wrong w/ a non-freeware suggestion now and then when it seems it
might be helpful. This one was.
