SMTP NOT RESPONDING

Hi I applied the SMTP fix, changing it from 25 to 587. I have made no
changes to Norton software. Not all people experiencing this problem have
Norton.

I can now send mail.
 
Demand a full refund of whatever you paid for Norton AV.
I did this with my last purchase of NAV (in 2003) and got a full refund.

Norton AV is probably not a contributing factor in this specific
BT SMTP server issue, but sooner or later Norton will become
the primary problem, so you might as well take care of it now.

Thanks - This problem has been frustrating me for the past 2 days. But your
suggestion has fixed it.
 
I don't believe Norton is the problem necessarilly. I changed to port 587
without even disabling Norton and WinMail now sends OK.

For the time being perhaps, but there is a very good chance
that Norton will bite you at some point, probably when it is
most inconvenient.
