Slow form, again

Jenniferspnc,

And it very well could be the network but we have to get thru insuring it is
not the database first! So far I have seen nothing that indicates it's the
database. How many controls (fields are on each form/subform and do you
have any calaculated fields on the form/subforms?

Yes, it is a LAN (not wirless), and excuse my earlier ignorance.

I do have a form that is bound to a dummy table in the BE to keep a
persistent connection (it opens with the welcome screen).

It's truly frustrating because I want to believe that it is the network and
not my database design, although I am not an expert on databases (read and
learn is how I get by).

I didn't see this in the performance FAQ link (although I could have
missed
it), and I don't think you mentioned it: when the database BE is on the
LAN
(not wireless, I hope), open a form bound to a BE table (or a query that
uses
a BE table). Minimize it if you like, but leave it open. Now try to run
the
problem query, or load the form. Any change?
The back-end is a .accdb (using Office 2007).

Does that help?? Sorry IT is not my area :(
Exactly what kind of network? (I am assuming the back end is an MDB,
so
don't even concern yourself with Oracle or SQL Server.)

Jennifer,

You're getting nowhere and spending a lot of time doing it. Look at my
earlier response to you. My offer is still open to try and help you.

Steve,

She is getting *somewhere* (and for FREE)... depending on her last set of
answers it appears as if it is the network not the database, so nothing for
you to do as that would be her Company's IT department.

As others have pointed out, these newsgroups are "staffed" by (mostly)
volunteers, and are intended to offer FREE assistance. In fact, the Code of
Conduct specifically mentions that solicitation is not permitted.

Before hiring someone who uses these newsgroups to solicit paid work, you
may want to ask yourself if you want to do business with someone who ignores
the rules ...

Good luck!

No, it is time you stopped harrassing people for work.

Stevie is our own personal pet troll who is the only one who does not
understand the concept of FREE peer to peer support!
He offers questionable results at unreasonable prices.

These newsgroups are provided by Microsoft for FREE peer to peer support.
There are many highly qualified individuals who gladly help for free. Stevie
is not one of them, but he is the only one who just does not get the idea of
"FREE" support. He offers questionable results at unreasonable prices. If he
was any good, the "thousands" of people he claims to have helped would be
flooding him with work, but there appears to be a continuous drought and he
needs to constantly grovel for work.

Please do not feed the trolls.
