Why not try Windows 2000? Much better than 98.

I didn't realize a floppy could fragment enough to become a problem. They
usually run out of space first.
That's because you didn't take the time to learn the new directory layout.
MS has simplified it much more.
What are the errors? Try posting them to an OE related newsgroup.
I've had it for 15 months, only crash twice, and I've had almost no problems
with it.
Make sure all your drivers and programs are up-to-date.
It may be if you fixed the problems.

With the NTFS File system, it freezes up just as much as previous with
FAT32.

OE 6 is . .almost useless: at least 350 error reports have been sent to
Microsoft in the past SEVEN (7) days. (NO FIX YET).
