Secure Database

The web site you suggested seems to have more then one code to
select from - which is Greek to me - can you copy to here what I
need and I should be able to find my way from there.

I explicitly said to use the second function, not the first.

If you can't figure that out, then you're probably beyond your depth
and maybe shouldn't be attempting this in the first place.

Go through the code and try to understand it, and then come back and
ask questions about it -- you'll learn more from that than if I just
hand it to you on a platter.

I have a database that will not let be back in form view to work on the
database by holding down the shift key and enter after entering p/w. Am I
doing something wrong?

Mark - Are you saying holding down the shift key while opening the database
won't let you in - maybe the Shift Key is disabled, If so I have been trying
to come up with a method to do just that for Access 2007. The below web site
has a program you can download to enable and disable the Shift Key on
startup. The only thing is when you open the program and click on search it
only sees databases that end in .mdb and .mde. What I found is when you
review the code in that program there is two lines that mentions .mde and
..mdb and if you change that to .accde and .accdb the program will now allow
you to see databases created with access 2007 and it works, it will enable
and disable the Shift Key for Access 2007 databases, hope that helps !

This web site has a program to enable and disable the Shift Key on start-up
but it doesn't work on Access 2007 - is there a new version around

After some research I found that if you change the two lines of code inside
this program from .mde and .mdb to .accde and .accdb it can be used to enable
and disable the Shift By-Pass Key on start-up for Access 2007 databases.
