Secrets on a computer

Too bad. Net cop someone else. You are wasting your time with me. I
have no respect for you.

I'm not netcopping you or anyone else. I don't always respond to the OP
acting like an ass for their benefit anyway--Sometimes it's for the
amusement of the group. As far as respect is concerned, Trust me, I'm not
concerned with you. :) You're an arrogant self righteous prick, imo,
without the necessary technical knowledge to hold his own against me.

So, every so often, calling you out when you ****up; and you do alot, is
my way of "netcopping" you. Ass.

:

I accept entitlement to secrets.

Jolly good!

The problem is, secrets have a way of
getting out...especially through such a medium as this.

Wot, newsgroups?

My point is that computers are not safe.

Too right. Mine is like a minefield - packed full of malware just
waiting to be run.

Careful! One wrong click... [g]
So you have no privacy issues...that's great Dustin. Why use
encryption...PGP, what is your address and phone number? SSN? Banking?
What are your passwords?

You're trolling for a bruising today, eh? :) Okay, I'll provide the
beating you want so badly. Here we go.

I made no statements whatsoever with regard to privacy issues, I
commented on Ant's collection of live malware samples. I suspect he has
gigs upon gigs of live malware--As I do, as most researchers do.

Your red herring argument has no purpose here.

Have a nice day, inexperienced trollish ass.

LOL...you couldn't keep up with me for 10 minutes.

what gibberish is this.

There appear to be two different people posting as "Bear", or maybe
it's the same person with two personalities. This one is less lucid
and is posting via xsusenet.com in Europe if the headers are to be
believed. The other Bear is apparently posting through news.dotsrc.org
from Cox netspace in the US.

In other words, the imposter bear deserves ridicule.

Yeah there is an imposter - Pooh. You can tell my posts by my header path:

news.sunsite.dk!dotsrc.org!filter.dotsrc.org!news.dotsrc.org!not-for-mail

the forgers is different.

....and he can't keep a secret.

Dude, listen.. You "review" software. I write the stuff. I've been a
certified technician for 12 years. (Boring right? I think so too).
Enough bragging on my end. Point made I suspect... Have a good evening
Bear.

Well, yes. That's why I don't use the left mouse button while browsing
them. I have had the odd "oh shit!" moment but I know what they do and
it's normally just a case of dive into the registry and fix stuff. The
one's I consider more dangerous like viruses which could damage other
files I tend to rename from exe to bin or similar. At no time am I
connected to the net while playing with them and I find that the
majority around today won't run properly if at all on Win2k!

I take similar precautions. ;p
I've found the oh shit moment is the same as when I discover I forgot to
discharge a capacitor ... lol

There is a lot more to life education and technical knowledge than
coding which you seem to be hung up on and use to judge yourself
compared to the rest of the world. Grow up little boy.

My technical and formal credentials would pale yours. You are speaking
out of your ignorant ass.

Your attention to me is noted as a high pitched feverish attempt to
protect your perceived 'position' in this group by attacking me - one
who you perceive as a threat to it. Immaturity enables that fear in you.

I'm simply here to offer what I choose to offer...not do battle with
you. Grow up Dustin.

I think you misunderstood the second part. More to technical work than
coding alone. One must understand the hardware at it's every electronic
component level. I'm quite competent in my chosen field Bear. Sadly,
You'll learn that the hard way before things are done at the rate your
going. Just how much crow do you plan on having to eat?

formal pieces of paper, maybe. Real world hands on experience, ****ing
not likely. I've been working with electronics since analog hifis were
still cool. [g]

Bear,

You pose absolutely NO threat of any kind to me. You have my attention
because you're trolling the group with offtopic nonsensical crap. Don't
assume it's anything more, I don't think highly of you, nor do I look
upto you. Or, in other words, I don't fear you in the slightest little
bit. It's you who stepped into my world. [g]

you. Grow up Dustin.

Offer what you like, just try keeping it on topic. Virus/antivirus
related. As well, that's the idea of this particular newsgroup. There
are thousands of others for which to entertain other topics which may
interest you. It's a pretty simple concept really.

You were saying something about Growing up? :)

I'm not the one guiding this discussion...you are. It is your problem
and you seem to have many identity issues. I can hold my own and have
done so for many years. I'm pretty much done with you Dustin and your
concerns about how smart you are and how stupid everyone else is.

I wasn't guiding anything Bear. I simply asked you a question you
couldn't answer. It was, why are you spamming offtopic crap here. Then
you attacked me for responding to the question about why normal joe
shouldn't be told to mess with his/her system registry.

Is this what you do when you have your preverbial ass handed to you?
Make up silly things like "It is your problem and you seem to have many
identity issues." Bear, I don't even know wtf that means.

I'm not concerned with how smart I am, I didn't even bring that up; You
wanted to compare notes. I simply obliged you. I didn't say everyone was
stupid, you're putting words in my mouth again. I explained they had no
interest in learning how the machine operates and it would be
irresponsible of you to suggest they go ****ing with the registry hives.

It's just as irresponsible if I were to tell someone how to change a
breaker over the phone. They screwup, get shocked or worse, who do you
think that's going to fall back on? Same concept here. Don't tell people
to do things they aren't comfortable doing that's ****ing dangerous if
not done correctly.

You aren't a tech, Bear. Any tech with proper training wouldn't put
somebody in such a bad situation knowing the person is going to blame
them when the preverbial shit hits the fan.
