Robin...About AVG 8

After repairing my AVG8, my cpu has returned to normal. Right now it's only
8%. What a relief. So, somehow the corruption of the AVG8 (which caused
the diagnostic tool to get stuck?) was preventing a proper scan and playing
havoc with my cpu. I was having problems playing chess on various internet
chess sites because of the cpu usage, and, in fact, forfeited some games on
time. I will soon test out whether my playing experience is better now, but
it should be. On the down side, I won't be able to read as much while on
the computer. :)
 
see if it is still setting restore points after each update
(not a program update- regular updates)

also received this from avg today about the restore points:

I know I checked mine today too- they said they are working on it- they did
not say it is fixed yet :)
at least they are aware of it
