Yep, that is my northbridge chip under the Zalman heatsink....well, the NB is actually a little smaller and mounted in the centre of that green square, and yes it is kinda a CPU, but handles different tasks.

thanks i think im in IMMEDIATE DANGER

i just installd that i got this:

cpu 87C (im worried abt this)
sys 44C
aux 37C

is 87C a bit too much?

im just gona check it in bios to see how much it is in there too!!!

i gather the northbridge is okay

rute just went into bios

in there the system temp is 40C
and the cpu temp is 61C

now the cpu temp using the software u said in windows ix 88C

should i be concerned?

i think so too!

now when i go into bios its 60C this is okay i beleive

but when in windows 87 even 90C is just CRAZY

wat more can I do except change cpu fan?
there is no fan speed controller.....

Thats way too hot!

Did you install the heat sink correctly? Did you use some arctic silver or the equivalent?

Maybe the temp reading software is reading incorrectly? You could try this. :)

When you say "fan" did you not change the heatsync as well?

You didn't just fit a new fan ... did you?

IT IS STILL TOO HOT

you risk killing the CPU

yes it maybe reading wrong
especially if in bios im getting a temp of 60C!!!

now the fan came with the thermal paste on it
i didnt need to add nething it was already added for me.....

ill try your software vr and see what it gives me...
thanks

You either fitted it wrong ... or it is a heap of junk.

;)

I repeat ...

The "HSF" is NOT cooling your CPU enough ... YOU RISK FRYING YOUR CPU ... but then it is your system.

heap of junk is accepted

but fitting it wrong Im struggling to understand.....
how could I have fitted it wrong?

also why does my bios temp differ from windows then?
i presume when the pc gets into winoows the cpu is working more?

well ignorrance is BLISS! :)

goood for Flopps to ask abt temps

otherwise i woulndt known there was a problem!!!
