Hi Peter

Backup up your registry with ERDNT
http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/

Then try them all!!!
Thanks for all the replies

I backed up my registry with Export menu option in Regedit. Then I used
CCleaner and my computer works better now.

I don't get strange kernel error messages now. I was getting them when
running NetBeans 4.1 with the Apache Tomcat 5.5.9 Web Server, that I'm
running as a Windows Service, as well as the latest JDK from Sun.

I actually still have my lecture notes on the Windows Registry from last
semester (I'm still studying for my Diploma in IT, part time) but I
thought I would be safe just to do a back up of the Registry and try out
this ccleaner to save some time. It's a case of "so far so good" without
any problems.

Have fun

Export in Regedit is not a good method to use as a backup.
Try Badger's suggestion.

Note: using the export option to backup the entire registry won't help
you if something goes wrong. It can't be imported in it's entirety.
Exporting individual keys is fine though. For a backup of the registry
use ERUNT as someone else told you.
