I was one of the original CPP for Vista and I would like to upgrade to RC1,
however, I have yet to receive any email from Microsoft to do so. Any
suggestions?

Existing BETA 2 keys can be used to install RC1 when it is available,
sometime this week.

According to Vista web site RC1 it's already available for CPP registered
members.

As I see that nobody has received any e-mail notification or download link
it seems that the RC1 release is inminent and Microsoft has updated his
Vista web site too early.

Regards,
Angel.

But the Vista site says they have.

The final major pre-release of Windows Vista—Release Candidate 1 (RC1)—is now available for
priority access by Customer Preview Program (CPP) participants only. If you registered for this
program in June, please look for a recent e-mail message from Microsoft (sent in early
September) with information regarding RC1. If you are not registered but would like to receive
Windows Vista RC1, the CPP will open to new participants in the coming weeks. Please check this
site periodically for updates.

I have yet to get mine either.

I figure they are doing it in groups so that bandwidth is not an issue,
and sometime this week I will get mine.

Just be patient. Look on the bright side. We get to ready about possible
problems and their fixes before we install ;)

I have not received an email yet!! But like the vulture, I say, patience #@@,
lets kill something. LOL
Do we know if any cpp has received an email?

It seems they were just getting it ready.
In one to two weeks when you read
"(sent in early September)", it makes
since- it's still "early" September.

The download is available right now.

The emails will probably be coming soon.

For those who monitor this group, you've
got the jump on those waiting for an email.

Jesus, man, are you going to wait for the e-mail???? Never ocurred to you
that the files should be posted on the same link as before???? Duh!!!!!!

Tried the file links, they just redirect to the vista site:

That does me absolutely no good.

My problem is that I signed up with a passport account that was part of
the Windows Live Mail Beta. Which was (e-mail address removed).

For some odd reason my "Saved" email folder was removed containing my
Beta 2 email. I can not even recreate that same folder, yet can create
"Saved Email".

Don't ask me why, but that is the way they have made it.

So I lost my original key and was told I would be re-mailed during the
CCP RC1 build with my original key, or I would just re-sign up.

I did activate my Beta 2 key so I should get the RC1 email.. hopefully.

If I have to sign up again, no big deal but I would rather not take away
a place from someone else when I already have signed up and have a valid
key.. somewhere in Live Mail Beta land :)

Thank you... its working great... I didn't get the invite either but i did
get WDK for it... so go figure...LOL

Pete, you could ahead and download it. Install it without the
key- yes, you can do that. That will work for 14 days. If you
install without a key it will ask you which version- Ultimate, of course.

Then, just wait for your email and enter your key when it
arrives.

lol i was one of the first 100,000 to download that file but i dont have
access to a dvd burner. I have the key but no burner :(

When Microsoft made clear nearly a year ago or so that Vista will be shipped
as DVD only and future Downloadable Builds will use DVD-Formats and not CDs
anymore I went and bought one.
Longhorn 4074 was the last Build that fitted on a 800MB-CD and to burn such
special Disks one needed a special recorder. So the decision was clear.

And only after getting used to burn DVDs , getting to know the DVD minus and
plus and RW formats, then I have first started burning Longhorn/Vista DVDs..

I can't understand people do this the other way ..

anyway - happy playing with your iso.
