I have a column of values which I need to rank from highest, 1, to lowest,
18.
Help please as I can't find anything on google.

Have you considered sorting them ascending?

In Excel help, search for the Rank function. The explanation is fairly straight forward.
A Rank formula in an adjoining column might look like...
=RANK(A2,$A$2:$A$30,ROW()-1)
