Then see "or higher", and better luck next time. :)

First one caused me to pawn my Amstrad 486.
Second one bought me my computer.
Downloading higher than wife.2 may return me to 486 status.

Do you know how to get nicotine off a computer?
Nothing seems to work.

No wonder you're hesitating. I'd think twice, too.

Just the obvious. :)

I wonder why, when 128 Mb RAM for most 98 machines is around US $12?

Not in England it aint.

I had 128 meg added [$28] to the existing 32 meg when I was told the AMD
MB would automatically increase the video usage from 8 meg to 32 meg and
clear up a jerky game problem. It did neither. They probably failed to
mention I would need to change something in the bios, which I won't. I
later discovered that if I turned the speakers off, there was very
seldom a video problem. Strange, half-assed fix but whatever. :-)

What kind of video adapter were you using? Numbers, here.

Why not change a BIOS setting to take advantage of new hardware?

Have you tried "Simple Green"? I use it for just about everything
except cleaning windows/mirrors. Spray on paper towel or equivalent
and then use that to wipe down surfaces.

I also periodically dismantle my keyboard and go at it with S.G. and
cotton swabs.

(I don't smoke so my only experience is with hand-me-down equipment
add-ons from friends.)

Careful. I've heard it's just an early beta. Very buggy.

Then you just have to try till it gets beta

I have already done that.
Perhaps downgrading to Girlfriend 3.0 might help

Evening all.

Anyone know of a free Ram cleaner/booster?
I am running win'98se & have only 128 megs.
Wife will not let me buy anymore :-(

Steve

Do a search for "Rampage". I have used it on win95, win98, and win2000 with no
problems. Have used it for 4+ years.

SIMMs (the older RAM from about 1998) still run about $1US per MB, so about
$128 for 128MB. It's the newer DIMMS that are real cheap. The high cost of
SIMMS in my p133 makes it unlikely I'll ever put more ram in it.

Thanks for all of that.
Much appreciated especially the sites.
