Evening all.

Anyone know of a free Ram cleaner/booster?
I am running win'98se & have only 128 megs.
Wife will not let me buy anymore :-(

I find they cause more problems than they are worth though.

Buy yourself some more RAM and buy her some roses and explain that having
more RAM is like receiving roses. ;)

Thanks for the link, will give it a look at.
I will buy the Ram & roses. You tell her that I did it. Hope you can fight.

BTW
How did you manage to email me, I am supposed to be munged.

It's not hard to figure out.

Some people will, as you have, munge their addys so that people can
figure it out if they wish, but they will still (hopefully) be shielded
from harvesting bots scanning Usenet for addys.

Others will post using an absolutely bogus addy, totally preventing
others from contacting them privately.

To Steve: That and command of one's own software; i.e., what goes into
the To header of an email program isn't locked in stone, and the user
can change it at will. Like, maybe, to remove the munging when the rest
of the address is obvious.

Upgrade to Wife2.0 (or higher, as applicable).

Careful. I've heard it's just an early beta. Very buggy.

*RAMidle*

probably the best for free
*RAMpage* http://www.jfitz.com/software/RAMpage/
other consummes much more RAM themselfs
You can also try *Anticrash2000* I have the same problem and use it instead
of ram boosters, works fine for me, and read what Mickey says about it

They're *all* beta.

And, once installed, not very user friendly, except, occasionally for
the ports.

Download freeRAM from cnet. It doesn"t give
me any problems. Just because one has (a certain amount) of RAM in your
computer doesn't mean that it is dedicated to what you want to do. And the
program is free (donations thankfully received). JSM.

LOL, that really is true!

And BTW:
Use a startup manager to disable unnecessary apps + controll processes with
a process viewer + check out your system for spyware.
Aida32 can show you how many memory every running application uses.

I wonder why, when 128 Mb RAM for most 98 machines is around US $12?
