yep...I suppose so....just being stubborn, I guess..*grin*..(and, I have
a LOT of settings and 'skins' set up)

yes...perfectly fine equalizer....
My problem is, I have several nice players which I can't decide
between. dbPowerAmp, Media Monkey and QCD are all first rate, with
dbPowerAmp and MediaMonkey having databases that are awesome..

Of course, I also have One-by-One tucked away..and JetAudio doing things
the others can't., and WinAmp is still 'available'......*sigh*...it's
enough to make a fellow wish there weren't so many choices.

watches is never sure"

I agree and wish somebody would come out with a player that has the
best features of each along with the standard features. Seems a lot
like photo editing programs. I have about 5 or 6 of those on my system
because each of them has an indispensible feature that the others
don't have. It's almost another form of bloat.
That the $ware player that came with my sound card is a nice one
and has all the features I need, barring the equilizer though. That's
why I was asking about it and am interested in Quintessential Player.

I mean to say "The $ware player that etc." Left the "That" in by accident.

The best is back and better than ever! Made me totally dump Winamp.

From the website:

"To celebrate the new release, iZotope is offering a 35% discount to
QCD users. For a limited time, get iZotope's Ozone plug-in for only
$19. Enjoy roaring bass, room widening treble, and sparkling highs
with this analog-modeled audio enhancer."

This begs the question, what's wrong with the way the player performs
without the iZotope plugin?

Should it play Real Streaming stuff like wot Winamp does?
If so I cannot get it to work.
If not; why not?

There were changes in QCD Player which broke the Real Audio plugin for
QCD. You can work around it by using the Winamp Input Plugin for QCD,
and then installing the Real plugin for Winamp. For more in depth
instructions, check the forums over at Quinnware.com.

Thanks for that, but I looked at XMPlayer at the recommendation of
someone in this thread and I have moved to that (for now). It does the
same thing as you have described about the plug-in, but it's much
smaller, less in your face and does lots. :o)

Yep, I can understand that. Over the last year or so, I've been
flopping from player to player. I started with Winamp2 (or maybe it
was 3), then went to Apollo by Heikki, then went to J. River Media
Jukebox, then QCD Player, and then Winamp 2.95. That's what I've
settled on for now, primarily because of the wide support for it with
regards to plugins and such (Spinamp is one such plugin). Also, the
built-in Shoutcast lister is very useful as well. However, I'm always
on the lookout for something better--or even comparable--because I
just flat-out don't like Nullsoft, so maybe I'll give XMPlayer a try.

It's simply an alternative player to the one refered to in the OP
(and, I guess, a good one too.) I don't see anything so unusual about
somebody posting such a reply.

So for every software announcement, everybody should post links to their
favorite alternative? It's just an announcement, not a this-player-is-
better incentive.
