powerpoint suddently swtiched to viewer only

I have the problem of "powerpoint suddenly changing to viewer only" twice in
the last 6 months. It seems to be triggered by MS Office updates.
I have followed the suggestions you have made and now all the files in 'my
documents' are working correctly. However all the files in the 'Groove
workspace' Groove 3.1 are still opening as viewer only.
For example a file open in 'my documents' will be as powerpoint but if
opened in 'Groove workspace' will open in viewer only.

Any suggestions??
 
Would like to help. but, I have no idea what Groove 3.1 is.

I don't know how you would do it. But, after reading about Groove 2007 on
line, looks like you will have to change the file association in the Groove
workspace from PPTVIEW.EXE to POWERPNT.EXE
