She was a beautiful/intelligent/obedient Dog full pedigree and lived for 13 Yrs 8 Mths,:( and I loved every minute of being with her.:) Thats why she is my desktop;)

Linux costs you your sanity, an arm & leg ... but is Free, don't do it if you value your mind.

Nope, Linux ain't bad, it's good.

BUT.... it does have a somewhat steep learning curve, don't expect to leap into it straight away like Windows.

And it's free.

Try Suse 10 or Mandriva 2006, do a Google and you'll find free downloads readily available.

Go for the DVD ISO versions, they have more stuff on them and they're a little easier to install, no swapping out of discs during installation and addinng things.

If you go for the 'automatic' install of either of those distros, dual boot with Windows is more or less automatic using either grub or lilo as bootloader.

But DO read every screen very carefully during installation.
