I just wish you'd all joined in a little earlier, lol, we wuz getting our asses whupped for a while although still hangin' in there.
My father served in India as backup crew to the RAF planes on active service for the last three years of the war.
He was with the troops that liberated allied troops from Japanese POW camps after VJ day, mostly in Burma. He told me it was not a pleasant task, seeing the cruelty inflicted.
When I was younger, I was something of a peacenik, and kinda sneered at WW2 and our involvment in it - was something of a hippy, really.
But now, on reflection, I understand.
Thank you, everybody involved in defeating the enemy at that time.
