Please Say My Pc Can Have More Ram !!!

I have just opened my pc up, to see wether i can have more RAM put in (512MB) and i am now not quite sure which slot. And i am getting worried now, since i think i know which the RAM is and there is 2 of them already ?!

My picture files are too big. I will have to re open again. I will post them after this if i can

I am really worried now, and i hope i can put more RAM in

HELP PLEASE !!!
 
check in the BIOS, should tell you how many RAM slots you have and which are being used by what.

if you want just resize the pics and post them.
 
What motherboard do you have, we can tell you easily (or take a photo so we can highlight it on there) :)
 
Errr... i don't know what my motherboard is soz lol

How do i resize the pics ?!

(If i do have 2 256MB RAM, can i replace them with 2 512MB RAM then in their place?)

I would like to know soon, also, on wether to get the 9800 Pro graphics card for my pc today, because i would like to order it today aswell thanx
 
Heya again. I have just checked my BIOS and it says this :
Installed Memory 512 MB/PC3200
Memory Bank 0 256MB/DDR SDRAM
Memory Bank 1 256MB/DDR SDRAM

So i take it i do have 2 slots of RAM filled. Now what can i do to put it to 1024MB of RAM which i want to do very soon, for new graphics card, hopefully ordering today?

Can i just take those 2 cards out, and replace them with 2 512MB RAMS instead now?

HELP ! lol

That memorys the best money can buy! But if you dont want to spend that much go for some Corsair Value or Crucial Value.

Yes, you can, no problems, straight swap.

I'm just about to order 2 x Crucial 256Mb PC3200 Memory sticks, they cost £52.00 the pair new.

If you're interested in selling your old memory, perhaps we can do a deal.

Do you know what make they are?

I was going to order them Tuesday for Wednesday delivery, but I coud wait a while longer.

Do you really need the XMS? Corsair value/GeIL value is £80 cheaper and both are very good. Theres no real speed difference between the three, they are all DDR400

Take them out and have a look ;)

If there's no label or marking, it's likely they're generic.

On putting them in, do i just stick them in, and that's it. Do i have to install any software for it or...

Take out the old, put in the new, that's it. On first boot enter Bios to make sure they're recognised OK if you want to, but no software, no tweaks required.

Well ifthere that much cheaper ! I WANT THOSE ONES ! Where can i find them ?! Coz i just had a row with mum asking her for more memory and graphics card and she wasn't sure at that price !!! Please ! I want to order TONIGHT ! lol

I will take them out after chris does a few more posts on the memory situation, coz i am desperate to buy them tonight ! lol and if there 80 pounds cheaper, saving me even more money on the grpahics card and memory put together then we should have a deal lol

After this is posted, Floopybootstomp i will take a look at what make my memory is ok, then come back online :)

Damn that graphics card i want, chris is out of stock !!! i am looking around now for same one, GDDR3 like you said, but the majority of them are DDR which you said not to get ?! What's the difference ?!

Now searching hard for 6600GT graphics card, which the site i was going to buy it from has no stock lol

Anyone find me a 6600 GT geforce GDDR3 ?!

as a confirmation, yes you can just switch them out. and i agree with chris. you wont need to spend that much. i wouldnt pay more more then 130 u.s. dollars. dunno what that translates into. just make sure its 3200 so its same as before. you wont need to buy "gaming" ram since you probly wont be oc'ing it or upping the voltage.
