Your installed anti-virus app should be configured to seek and install
updates automatically, daily, at a time when the machine is usually running
and connected to the internet. It should also be configured to run a full
system scan a few minutes after seeking/installing updates, also daily.
Anything less is simply insufficient these days.

(AVG's had some really buggy updates recently with many False/Positives as
the result. Hey, s*** happens. Whaddya want for free?)

I have to agree with you Robear about making sure your AV is set up to
update and scan daily but we both know the update is what caused this
problem in both free and commercial versions. Given the problem with
recent updates, Grisoft has got to get their colective asses in gear...
they are starting to slip way too much for my liking especially when I
resell their product to my clients.

Not being an apologist for AVG (whose /free/ version I often recommend as
better than nothing) but Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, NOD32, and just about
every other AV app maker all have issued "bad" updates at some point in
recent months.
