[PL] Trial for new Voting Procedures

Spacey Spade

This is a trial run to see if a new voting procedure can be easily
understood by all. Please take part to see if the procedure can be
successful. Below are a list of "program types" and a list of
"programs" on which to vote.

Special Instructions:
If you use a program type, leave it in even if you do not vote for a
program of that type. Vote for a program by not deleting it.

LEAVE ONLY THE PROGRAM TYPES THAT YOU USE OR HAVE USED.
Remove all program types that you do not use or have not used.

PW programs are a popular type vote. If we agree that the cutoff point
for popular is 12, then those with less than 12 votes don't make it to
PW.

Niche programs are graded like this:

(Number of Votes) / (Number of Users) = Percentage Score

Example:

(7 votes for blahblah) / (10 users of blahblah type program) = 70%

Group decides 60% to be the cutoff point, thus blahblah makes the Niche
Programs page.

My guess; once the voters understand the modus operandi of the
votes/users formula, very few will vote for a program while not also
claiming to use it. Like asking men to measure and report the length
of their penis, no? (And the majority population of this group is
male, no?)

I feel that I should not vote for a program unless I have the knowledge.
Maybe that's just me.

Okay, I did an "eh?" on a couple of the categories... a little vague...but
I knew what they were talking about. I'm not sure all the PW categories
will be self-explanatory though.

I also asked myself if an MP3 renamer would count as a rename utility. (I
knew the answer was no, but not everyone would know that.)

The test run is still young, but it's possible that people who aren't
sure they understand the system are avoiding it.

When I made the earlier comment, it was when I pictured the layout as having
the categories in a number of places, adjacent to their respective programs.
In the actual form as you used for the test, it was all categories in one
section, then all programs in another section. With that layout, I can see
no inability-to-snip risks coming into it.

Yeah, this is a really rough first run. Nominators would probably make
the best suggestions to have specific categories.
