Has anyone tried either of these? They have not been voted as
Pricelessware, but I'll try them if they are good.

I have tested both of them, they are very good.
But I like GPGShell the best

I like GPGShell the best

I'll give it a go. The big problem with PGP is that other people have to
have it for it to be truly useful. I'd love to see it made so usable that
non-techies could handle it.

GPGShell works very nicely. Now I just need a friend, with PGP installed,
who I might want to send encrypted information to.

:o)

I installed and tested GPGshell. It is very clean and straightforward.
Its configuration is not too hard to follow. It also can create a
configuration preference file for GnuPG, in which you can indicate the
loading of idea.dll plug-in for further compatibility with PGP. It has
the ability of installing GnuPG from its distribution ZIP-archive as
well.

After installing GnuPG and GPGshell, I suggest installing GPGshell
first and GnuPG in the second step from within GPGshell. It would be
more convenient. Because by doing that, you can set PATH and the
related adjustments with an easy-to-use graphical interface once you
uncompressed your zipped GunPG archive in a folder of your choice.

Next, you might want to download ideadll.zip from
ftp://ftp.gnupg.dk/pub/contrib-dk/ideadll.zip and use GPGshell to
install it. You can right click on GPGtry, a part of GPGshell, go to
Lunch > Preferences GnuPG > and from there you can point to where you
have extracted ideadll.zip to (it could be your GnuPG folder). idea
library to your GnuPG is an optional step for your GnuPG to comunicate
with PGP effectively (more info about ideadll.zip here:
http://www-eleves-isia.cma.fr/Doc/gnupg-1.2.4/faq.html#q3.3
and more info on IDEA at Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Data_Encryption_Algorithm ).

In 'GPGkeys - Preferences GnuPG' we have many compatibility options and
a good help, when you choose [pgp8]. You may also save your preferences
easily.

I have not tested WinPT, yet.

WinPT (has a OE plugin)
Has anyone tried either of these? They have not been voted as

I have used WinPT in the past. I have no need for the Outlook plugin though
because my own secure mail client (jbmail) also interfaces with GPG. WinPT
has been OK but I have found it kind of buggy with respect to
configuration. The last time I tried it, there were enough issues to make
the experience unpleasant. Still, very useful software.

I actually found that things worked out better just using the command line,
rather than a front end to GPG. Is there something specific you are looking
for a frontend for?
