PCI or AGP?

I have windows XP, I'm still a little unsure what I'm looking for to tell if it is a AGP or PCi, I have the tower open at the moment if you can give me a clue

I've done a bit of net surfing and it is a AGP port. Also found this Radeon card which on chris' review rated higher than the 5700LE for about the same price. What do you think?

i have a 9600SE and it is a good card, either the 9600pro or the 5700LE will be good enough for what you want to do. which one to get is up to you

I appreciate all the help on this topic, thanks for helping me make my mind up.
Cheers
If your motherboard has an AGP normal colour [BROWN] the slot will be the TOP one on the rear of your PC or to the far RIGHT if it is a desktop.
All the others are PCI slots normal colour [WHITE]
As for being AGP or PCI Depends on what was installed by the maker?

well how old is your computer or motherboard as pci is quite new

PCI graphics cards are now very old, they were suceeded by AGP4x, then AGP8x, and the newest sucessor is the PCI-X (PCI Express).

I just thought I'd mention this, as I'm not too sure you're all talking about the same cards, or maybe it's just me misreading the thread, but anyway from 2002 it's very likely to be AGP.

soz that was my mistake! oops lol

i gathered as there was alot of hype over pci graphics atm they were new and outperform agp and also that the radeon X850 is thier last card ati make in the agp format!

sorry people i got the wrong end of the stick ;) lol

thanks for the update, would appreciate any advice about cheap places on the net to buy graphics cards?

Yes but there the lame ones ... lol Never use them for computing stuff i say ... just use the proper sites ...
