Hi, Tom.
Back to Italy.
I have the values for the gray wire, when PC doesn't start ; i.e. 0.04 and
4.07.
Gray wire at 4.07 volts only confirms that the power supply voltage
monitor is reporting exactly what we saw with the meter - all voltages
OK. Motherboard should then master reset all chips and the CPU. Then
CPU should start executing. Apparently that is not happening
sometimes - an intermittent failure.
What would I do next? I would find that master reset line, solder a
switch to it, and then press that "reset" switch when the computer did
not start. But then I do these more complex things sometimes just to
learn. You probably will find it easier to replace the motherboard,
or power recycle the computer when it does not start. Finding that
reset line (and trying to solder that tiny wire to that tiniest IC
pin) is challenging and probably not worth the effort.
