Parallel hook up for Pixma 4000?

I stopped by Costco today
and looked at the printers and printer/scanner
combinations. Every, and I mean every, HP unit
says that a USB cable is included. Is that HP or
is that Costco?

As I said, in the past i'm told it's vender choice... and that costco
typicaly has printers with cables.

Here is a brief lowdown of what I actually saw... note I have noted
printers at compusa that do some with cables, much to my shock..
