OT: Yahoo web beacons

Thanks. Same here. But recently, some login pages are adding
obnoxious ads.

Huuummmm...I always reload and save the default before surfing.
I also shut out as much as possible with Win settings. Perhaps
you could copy the url and paste it in RESTRICTED sites in IE.
I've done that with several. As for PopUps...I've use Panicware's
PopUpStopper for years. When use Proximitron and then afterwards
run SpyBot and Ad-Aware...they always end up finding nothing.

However, there are some instances when the sneaky ones flip a pop-up
in the foreground of the web page... but that doesn't happen too often,
and it's usually when I've done things too hurridly and by-passed our
little green triangle. ;0)

Heh, no IE here. JS on only when needed so I see popups when I
want to. ;)
The biggest nuisance is shockwave @#$% on https.

Panicware's PopUpStopper allows you to see the popUps you want
by merely pressing the Ctrl button. And I don't recall a problem with
shockwave or https. [Some sites I frequent are https ;) ]
