Hi folks,

Many of you, no doubt, have been to my pages and seen
that I am now backing a presidential candidate...It has
meant long hours of work and a certain amount of dereliction
of duty re: my freeware website (which I plan to ameliorate soon) :)

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Everyone has been
very nice about it thus far. (I've always had my causes)...

But I wouldn't <<BE>> SOS if I didn't call your attention
to this page.

Alan - sitting on the other side of the border I have a terrible gut
feeling of what the world has become and I feel for the American people
who have become the target of these terrorist bastards. BUT, as the top
of that web page says, "All young Americans deserve a world without end
not a war without end."
Think of the alternative in a world where America remained neutral of
terrorist activities.
If that border guard stops one terrorist, those cars waiting in line are
not that much of a nuisance,

One problem is this is abuse of fully documented US citizens, who
are no longer protected by the <rescinded> Bill Of Rights.

If I wanted to read these kind of political opinions, I'd go to a newsgroup
set up for that. Why don't you post this kind of material in that newsgroup
instead of here?

Last time I looked the name of this newsgroup was "alt.comp.freeware".

for your agenda. Your act cheapens your otherwise most respected
contributions to this group, and adds to the troubling trend of increasingly

Elena and Nicolae Ceausescu by revolting elements of the Romanian military

profit greatly and the general populace suffers more than ever.

Good for you SOS. I'm glad you are politically active like all good
Americans should be.

While I disagree strongly with your choice, I defend your right to back
anyone you wish. I still think you have one of the best Freeware sites on
the Web.

That said, don't you think you should take your political activism to a more
appropriate news group?

History:

THE GIANT SUCKING SOUND
During the presidential debates, Ross Perot had warned that if
the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) passed, there
would be "a giant sucking sound of manufacturing jobs leaving
this country." The Republicans and Democrats were in favor of
NAFTA, claiming that it would increase U.S. exports, reduce
illegal immigration, and help clean up the environment.

As the legislation moved toward a vote, Perot went to
Washington to lobby against it. Ralph Nader, Pat Buchanan and
Jesse Jackson joined him, an alliance the press called "The
Halloween Coalition." Larry King invited Perot and Vice
President Gore to debate the issue on his show on November 9,
1993. In the appearance, the Vice President presented Perot a
framed photo of the men who had originated the Smoot-Hawley
Bill. Gore stated, "They raised tariffs, and it was one of the
principle causes - many economists say THE principal cause -
of the Great Depression in this country." The man who claimed
he invented the Internet inverted the facts here. The
Depression started with the stock market crash in 1929.
Smoot-Hawley passed into law in 1930.

In the end, NAFTA passed in a Lame Duck session of Congress
in November of 1993. The results have been disastrous. In 1992
the United States had over a 5 billion dollar trade surplus
with Mexico. In 1999 we had a $24 billion dollar trade
deficit. Almost a half million new factory jobs have been
created just south of the Rio Grande. NAFTA was more than just
about lowering tariffs; it was the insurance policy that
corporations needed to invest and build new factories in
Mexico.

The Mexican government had a history of nationalizing entire
industries. With NAFTA, if Mexico declared government
ownership of a factory, the U.S. would immediately put tariffs
back in place. But instead of the money going to the treasury,
the tariff money would repay the corporations for their lost
investment. It was a backdoor bailout to take away any risk,
and it worked ... for Mexico.

It's only because you don't understand the mechanics of those color
levels. Magenta usually implies that those horrible terrorists (This
word is being expanded) have alleged wings on their backs and can
move around. It also means that at least one of these mobile
terrorists is microscopic in size and carries a 'dirty' bomb
strapped to its back. On something like the east coast this is to be
expected. These types of terrorists generally tend to migrate there.
It's always a good thing to alert the masses of microscopic threats
and the color Magenta was determined by experts to be the best. If you feel an
itch on your skin, don't dismiss this and immediately inform
homeland security. Chances are that a microscopic flying terrorist
with a dirty bomb on its back has attached itself to your epidermis.
Only with the efforts of homeland security can this be remedied. Do you
not see the importance of creating a new branch of the government?
Clearly obvious. After all, wouldn't you want you and your family
warned about possible and non-existent threats in an easy to
understand color chart?

On the west coast, however, the color code yellow was designed to
warn the masses of something entirely different. Usually this
implies...

you not come up with a decent regex to deal with "OT" and all of its
derivatives?. Even better, force your newsreader to snag any post
from SOS that doesn't contain OT and derivatives. Too much work
right?

Lastly, you could just as well, from now on, totally "boycott" any
post by SOS. How dare this person speak out against bush and the
smurfs. Didn't some musicians in my grande'ol US of A already
experience just such a thing? It works. Try it.
