OT Microsoft is pathetic

Here we are on Internet Explorer version 8. Go to Microsoft's
Windows Updates website. Hold the control key and move the mouse
wheel to increase the font size... It barely changes, if at all.

Just amazing IMO how the company that makes the operating system
still cannot make a browser that easily changes font sizes on
Microsoft's own website, after all these years.

Besides the fact that it just could not care less, Microsoft is
probably still pathologically stuck on trying to change its
Internet browser into a file browser, not realizing that it cannot
get there from here, perpetually floundering around.

When was the last operating system anyone in the United Kingdom
wrote, Concord?

I am using Firefox, written by volunteers and totally outclasses
Internet Explorer.

Another screwed up part of Internet Explorer is the way it handles
my $100 mouse. Every other program I use knows that the default
condition for the mouse wheel is geared mode. For some strange and
ridiculous reason, when I enter Internet Explorer, the mouse
scroll wheel behavior changes to freewheeling mode. Microsoft is
just screwed up, as anyone who is familiar with Microsoft
utilities knows since Windows was invented. The only reason XP is
a decent operating system is probably because Microsoft was under
huge pressure at the time, Microsoft was scared to death it was
going to get smacked by the only entity that could do so (the
United States government). Then George Bush "could not care less
about anything" Junior stepped in and stopped the process of
making businesses play fair with each other. That is one reason we
are in the shape we are in now, no referees makes for very
unhealthy competition.

And then, among dozens of other screwed up Windows things, there is
Microsoft's Date and Time Properties. That is what you would expect to
be a calendar utility for Windows. But in fact, it is only a half-baked
utility for adjusting the date and time. Having Microsoft's calendar
exposed on your desktop can easily cause the day/date on your computer
to be screwed up. It looks like a calendar utility, but you cannot even
set an appointment note. My dinky little iPhone has a real calendar
utility built-in that works 10 times better. Maybe Microsoft does not
have the resources to make a real calendar utility for Windows...

Only an idiot would think that "Date and Time Properties" would be a
calendar utility.

Only an ignoramus doesn't know that Microsoft has been selling a
real calendar utility for Windows for decades. My Vista and Win7
computers came with free ones, too.

Microsoft is so greedy, it does not have enough money to include a
calendar utility in Windows. My ultraportable computer (iPhone)
includes a functional calendar utility. Because Apple is rich?
Because the iPhone is meant for business users more than a PC is
meant for business users? No... It is the same reason Microsoft is
gung-ho for using cheap and subservient H1B visa workers, because
Microsoft's only goal is to maintain its monopolies with the
smallest possible investment.
My Vista and Win7 computers came with free ones, too.

Are you still using a keyboard to type in Windows, Dildo? Are you
still using shortcut keys to do stuff in Windows, Dildo?

Microsoft should have included text to speech and speech to text
(speech recognition) a decade ago when Dragon NaturallySpeaking
was already a viable speech recognition program. Instead, if all
you can afford is to pirate Windows and the junk utilities that
are included, you are stuck with Windows Speech Recognition. But
of course, Dildo, you cannot speak well enough to use it. And even
if you did, you would not be able to use it for automating Windows
like my Windows is automated via speech recognition.

In other words... I use speech recognition and speech powered
automation to make Windows dance, Dildo, how about you?

"Windows Calendar". "Windows Live Mail". Free. Included or
downloadable.

How can you be so loud and so wrong?

Listen! Nursie is coming down the hall with a nice injection for you,

Many free programs are better than the garbage Microsoft has

Why so much negative energy spilt over this group?
Just switch to Linux or, since you worship Apple, to MacOS and
forget Windows. I got 'em all and still using Windows mostly.

Microsoft is as greedy as any other corporation throughout the world.
Is there any grading system around to grade the greed?

It inavoidable comes to my mind the line from the "Wall Street" movie
when Michael Douglas says the powerfull line "The greed is good!"

Simple as this, if you don't like the calendar utility just join some of
noumerous open source groups and bless us with your fantastic

If the nym-shifting troll (Assfur) is referring to my occasional
post to the blind users group, that participation has nothing to
do with my extreme efficiency in using Windows. Most blind users
probably do not use speech recognition. In fact, most PC users
will be using speech for dictation and operating a computer in the
not-too-distant future, maybe even Assfur in 20 years or so. If a

lots of time, he (or she) might even be able to learn how to do so
now.

The "greed is good" "jobs Americans won't do" thing came after
Ronald Reagan when our government degraded into libertarianism.
What we need is a challenge. Sooner or later, it will come, but we
should provide it for ourselves to help keep a strong between now
and then. Nuclear power, to wean ourselves off of oil, and space
exploration would have been a much better use of our resources
than nation building, for some strange reason (like being
dependent on their oil and wanting to rid the world of evil men)
we are throwing billions to the Middle East.

Well, you can spill as much negative energy as you want, I don't care,
__but__ as much as you have constitutional and usenet-user's right to voice

OK, it was labeled whatever. You could have probably dropped that OT sufix,

Quite interesting, with no apparent reason you have changed my nick into
something supposely to be funny, and eventually to piss me off (?). As I
said, be my guest with negativity, but why are you trying to annoy me with
stupid names?
I see, Stonehead, you are a Linux Lunatic.
Again, what's your problem? I'm just one bit-more-powerful PC-user with no
special preferences to any OS. Linux has it's own audience, not to mention
that more than 60% od enterprise world is based on Linux. Try install one of
these, for example Fedora. You will eventually learn something, and have
more material to compare your current knowledge with.
That sounds like Linux Lunatic babbling,
Babbling? I just voiced my usenet-right to not to agree with you.
No, but you can grade the size, and you can grade the fact that
Microsoft is gung-ho for using cheap and easy to control H1B visa
workers.
Here you probably have no clue what you are talking about. I do, 'cause I'm
forinational (born and raised in Croatia) who did my H1B term in USA, almost
10y in total. Microsoft is much sought-after employer in my field of
computer professionals (ECE), much more sought-after than, say, Sun
Microsystems, who gained quite negative attitude by employing more than 80%
of its work force from India, not overseas, but bluntly on the soil of USA.
FYI, it is not alleged Microsoft's, or Sun's or whatever's, ability to
easily control H1B visa, it's USA goverment who actually made possible to
corp's to employ "cheap, well educated and obeying" workers from around the
world, especially from India and Eastern Europe. Been there, done that. So,
blame is not upon corporations in general (who just play it loud), but to
USA policy towards imported workers (who just hides behind corps).
I do not like it because it sucks, Stonehead.
What, exactly, sucks? I'm sure I DO suck from your point of view, but
frankly, what's wrong with you?

... In fact, most PC users

Try now, speech recognition is in MS Vista since its inception, and further
brought to higher degree of functionality in Windows 7. For starter, go to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Speech_Recognition, even in WinXP:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306901

MS maintains its own page for W7:
