OT - Looking for a replacement for DNSStuff.Com

I believe Sam Spade is a utility you would be installing on your
computer. Therefore any requests done would originate from your IP
address and the target machine may have logging enabled to find out who
is pinging it. You may not want your IP showing in this way.

At least DNSStuff and NW-Tools are web-based and would in effect be
acting as a proxy so your suspected spammer/virus guy may not be able
to trace you back. At least this is the way I believe it works. Maybe
someone will correct me.

Yes it is a client PC utility and I am not worried about my Dynamic Verizon DSL IP address.

I do appreciate the URL and it has been saved.

Your IP may be dynamic but it has not changed since this thread started.

I have Sam Spade and have used it in the past also. If you are happy
with it then that is all that counts.

You finally rebooted your router or told it to release/renew the IP.

I recently changed jobs and am now a Verizon FiOS Network Technician.
I'm still learning of course but with access to all sorts of dangerous
applications I can be more destructive than I have ever been. It's a
good thing I have a kind heart and only wish to be helpful...

That's not "exactly" what I did. :-)

As a Verizon FiOS Tech. do you have access to teh Verizon News Server ?

No, I do not. But I do have access to every single FiOS installation
in the country. The range of my domain is from the customer's house to
the Central Office. From the Central Office to the Gateway Router
belongs to another group, but it is not fiber.

I can't even get DSL at my premises, much less FiOS. We are currently
offering 50Mbps to business customers and some residences. We can
easily go 100Mbps if necessary. The driving force behind all this is
of course the cable companies (of which I am a customer, the irony)
with their triple plays. However fiber optics allows us to have
virtually unlimited bandwidth and the video we are delivering is
fantastic compared to cable companies.
