In the new system you have to click in each message to see the quoted
text. Makes it very difficult to follow a discussion....

True but the updating is minutes not half-days at least.
 
Link wrapping is done by the posting app; usually OE.

In my case [Xnews] it's a manual option to place URLs unwrapped B4
sending, not initially obvious but thankfully, possible.

Also in Dialog there is an option in the composition window to insert a wrap
override character, via menu or shortcut (Shift+Ctrl+O).
It's very useful when posting long links or pieces of code.

In my opinion they have forgotten that it is a discussion
arena. You should be able to see what quoted text people
response to at once!
